So, why is YOUR dog walking service/s better then your competitions?  Providing the “Dog Walking” service to your customer/s is considered a “staple” in the pet sitting business and as we all know, it’s important to make YOUR services… whether it’s dog walking services, pet sitting services or overnights – to be DIFFERENT then your competition. You must try to find ways to add value added services to your pet services in order to make your pet business stand out and appear to be worth more.  So this is a great time to focus on your services, each one individually and write about it. Brag about it and really show your pet website visitors why your pet services are better then the rest.

Share your link to your blog post! Let’s read it!

So all dog walking companies and pet sitting companies offer dog walking right? Whether it’s a 30 min visit or 1 hour visit. Regardless of what type, kind, or length of dog walking services your company provides, why not blog about the BENEFITS of dog walking ? Now, to take it a step further and expose the benefits in behavior of a dog who has daily dog walks vrs dogs who do not have daily dog walks? Concentrate on “behavior” and the benefits again – of better behaved, happy and exercised dogs.

Yes, why not? This is a great opportunity for you to SELL your business through your amazing care notes that you leave for your clients.  Now, I know – and I know first hand that writing care notes, day after day, visit after visit can be a bit repetitive, especially when the visits are the same for a paticilar pet. It’s okay and I’m sure the client know this and is not expecting fido to be suddenly learning to walk on his hind legs while they are at work. ( funny huh? ) Anyways, it’s YOUR attitude I want to focus on here with care notes – you can change the way you use this little feature and create super duper individualized business with your out-of-the-box thinking that reflects YOUR company. What would these ideas be? Well, those i will save for another post – There’s no sense in letting all the cats out of the bag ( pun intended ) because that would be too easy. Instead, I wish stimulate your creativity but encouraging and suggesting that you focus on the following questions below and come up with a fabulous blog post for your website – the GOOD in this is that you will INTRIGUE ( my favorite word again ) your potential client to see that these special care notes that your business leaves are not just notes, but KEEPSAKES!.

  1. Why do you even have care notes? Seriously, ask yourself this. Truthfully answer this question. What is the real reason behind having care notes in your pet business?
  2. What benefit do you feel the clients get? Have you thought about that?
  3. Do you think they keep them?
  4. Are you happy with the way your IC’s or Employee’s write their notes? Fair question!
  5. Can you think of a way to SPICE UP your care note writing for yourself, your IC’s , Your employees?
  6. How can you market your care notes and make YOURS better then your competition?

BLOG THIS ! Brought to you by Laura Taylor – PetBiz Branding Web and Pet Business Designer. Encouraging Pet Sitters to THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!

Good Morning Pet Sitters! I going to help you out – since I talk quite a bit about blogging on your pet business website, I’ll provide you 1 idea per day for a pet website blog topic. This should help you along. Remember, if you have your blog as a part of your pet business website, this is really GOOD FOOD for Google and other search engines. It’s like feeding your website some desert!

Today’s Blog Topic is:

Why YOUR PROFESSIONAL pet business is better for your pets then the kid down the street.

So why is your professional pet business better for your potential clients then the kid down the street?. Why should they hire you? What makes you PROFESSIONAL? What are the benefits to using your service? What are the risk clients take by using a non professional, non bonded and insured, legally registered and responsible company? Sell your self and your services.

Tip:

Use keywords in your posts. Don’t OVER DO IT. I wouldn’t want to read your post thinking WTH? and have no idea why you keep repeating the same words over and over. Simply expand by saying “A professional Pet Sitting or Dog Walking Company instead of “pet business” . Your post must make sense to the reader.

Please share!

Don’t be shy – share your posts by replying to this post and providing a link. Remember, links to your pet business website is GOOD. :-)

Let’s get to the nitty griddy on this topic shall we? So you have a pet website. I want you to go to your website in a new browser, open it up and try to size your browser so that you can read my article and see your pet sitting website at the same time.  Now, we are going to play a little game – pretend you are a client. A pet owner looking for a pet sitting, or dog walking company to care for your precious dog or cat while you are away on vacation.  For the sake of this exercise, we’re not going to talk about trust, or colors, or actual design of the website itself, but instead you are a potential client looking for specific information and you must be “intrigued” within the first 20 seconds someone lands on your website ( I have another article for on impressions and seconds coming soon ). So you – being the potential client lands on your pet sitting or dog walking website. Can you be objective for this exercise?  If so, begin the game….

1). At first glance – does the pet website appear organized and appealing to the eye? ( your eyes flow at what you can see at first glance) What are your comments?

2) What would be the FIRST piece of information YOU as the potential client would look for on a pet website?Write down your comments.

3) What is the information you see on your website WITHOUT SCROLLING OR CLICKING? What information does the pet website provide you? Write down your comments.

4) If you were a client, would you say this website provides instant information for you to further want to explore the website? Write down your comments.

What’s the point in this exercise? The point in this exercise is to get you to try to be objective about your website’s first impressions and have you THINK like a potential client. If you were a client coming to your website, what would you want see? What information do think should be readily availble to you WITHOUT scrolling in order to convince you to explore and lick links such as “prices or services”?

Think about it – and play the game!
